Handicap rv controls
Having just had right leg below the knee amputation, I am looking for what others have done to keep traveling. Hands only devices or left foot fuel pedals what have you. Yes i will be getting a prosthesis. Thanks in advance for any help.

Someone posted he was having left brake bolted to right arm a second owner was asking about brake to left as well in another thread. It was a DP and arm fit behind steering column . The way arm was built and straight and flat seemed pretty doable. I don't member him following up with any pics. Most modern engines are fly by wire so in my mind throttle pedal should be able to be moved. I'm picturing a DP in my mind ,because of steering column being the issue. The steering column trim cover may be able to be removed or made smaller to help with more room. I do not claim to be an expert in these modifications in any means.
You should make a signature or at least include you coach maybe some pics as well. If you search thread maybe you can PM 1st owner.

Might be worthwhile to contact shops that retrofit cars and see what they know and can offer.
Good luck.

DJK, I am right leg atk. I am still shopping for a rig but drive my personal vehicles with my left leg. I was looking at DPers but think I might be more comfortable with a Super C. I haven't sat behind the wheel of a DP yet but the pedals are more to the right which could be uncomfortable.

Their are a number of left foot gas pedal manufacturers out there. When we used to install them at our medical store, we used the Sure Grip brand. They are pretty straightforward, but I'd check with your insurance b4 self installing in event they need it be installed by a licensed dealer. Depending on where you live, you may want to check if you need to amend your driver's license to include adaptive driving devices. Same would go for hand controls if you decided on that route. Might be worth something you check in a mobility installer with first, to see if they have a demo vehicle you can try to see what works best for you.
