Disaster in BC Canada
hello from flooded Chilliwack, Rosedale and camperland We have had a huge rain event that has crippled the fraser valley and surrounding communities Just got the bus out as the mountain side started to collapse down on us. So very scary. So many people only got out with their towing vehicles and had to leave their rigs behind. All the hwys in and out of southern BC flooded or closed due to mud slides. Managed to get a rv spot further into the lower mainland. We are so thankful.
But it seems we lost one front hub cap on the bus and the side cap of our large awning is also missing. Not sure where to start looking to get these replaced and fixed.
PS we had to leave our car and suv at the camperland site. Do not know when we will be allowed back in to retrieve them and what shape they will be in.
Mother Nature is really pi__ed off

So glad to hear you got out safely.
We've had 4"+ of rain here on the eastern Olympic Peninsula since midnight.
Now the winds are whipping 40-60 mph. Flooding, mudslides and trees down everywhere. As ugly of weather day I can recall in recent years.

Really a bad year for weather here in 2021 for sure!
Fires, extreme heat, now heavy rains with floods.
Merritt has flooding that put the sewage treatment plant out of commission yesterday, so many are evacuated there as well.
I'm just thankful to live in boring old Kamloops! Some gusty wind and a little shower now and then, but nothing catastrophic. Just waiting to see what Winter will bring.

Definitely a very scary position to be in, but thankfully, you escaped unhurt and for the vehicle and hub cap, easily replaced versus a life. Take time now to relax and regroup, better days ahead.

Glad to hear you made it to safety. Don’t worry about the little stuff.
Here in the north Okanagan the weather radar looks a little freaky. We are ready. Critical loads UPS is online, every ryobi battery charged, lots of supples, propane for the generator is ready and the Tesla is charged. Supper is cooked and if the power goes the movie stick with all the zombie movies is ready to go. ��

Beautiful sunny crisp -3 C morning just out of Kamloops today. Going for a drive to Kelowna to do a little shopping. Maybe stop and visit some friends in Vernon as well.
Have a great day, and hopefully all will clear up at the coast soon.

Gorgeous day. We had a windy night with steady but not hard rain in Vernon. A few flickering lights. But all is well. Wishing those up valley and in the interior well. All the box stores here have signs apologizing for low stocks, but that’s going to happen when every highway to the coast is closed.

Glad you made it out ok. I have friends and family in Bellingham. My friend was stuck in Vancouver BC last night, and my daughter in Bellingham wasn't sure she was going to be able to get home from work. Her daughter is going to be staying with Dad longer than planned on the other side of the I-5 closure.
This is the second winter we've spent away from the PNW. Sold the house and hit the road just in time! Of course the first summer we were chased down the west coast by fires.
Stay safe, and hope you get through this storm without ant lasting effects.
