best travel planner out there have used it for years and it keeps getting better with their upgrades - I load plans from it directly into my Garmin RV GPS

Similar to above. I build my plans and routes then tweak Google Maps to use the same routes (unless I personally have a route preference)

I feet that it is a good tool, not perfect but close. It seems to take some learning curve and getting the route to customize to what I want can be a PIA. By this I mean secondary roads, I hate freeways and try to avoid them unless I need to make time or the or the option is too far out of the way.

Curious how this works for you. Experimented today with exporting our upcoming trip. I downloaded the GPX file from RVTW and imported into the RV890 without issue. I located the file both under the 'Saved' icon and also thru the 'Trip Planner' icon. The trip steps appear out of order in both of them.

Yes this is what I’m after , I have a garmin 760 I believe , and I can never make it go the route I want to take and it will lead me down some god awful roads. Trying to get better with it. Might give it a try.

I'm using it right now to plan a trip this fall from IL to CA. Used it 2x last year, same destinations, different routes. I like it for routing and locating campgrounds, but favor Waze for daily driving routing and spoken directions. I used the distance rings and like the hover over a park feature to check it out.

Same here I travel backroads when possible but it seems to be hard to make the garmin do that . I want to pick my own routes

You need to learn to create custom routes in the Garmin devices. Adding waypoints/stops will get them to route you how you want. You can't just pick a destination and click "go".

Yes. Been a subscriber for a couple of years now. My wife LOVES it. Me, I still double check the recommended routes just for my own piece of mind.

Do you do this on the device itself or in an app or something and download it on there?

When I used garmin devices, there was an "app" built into the device that would let me create routes. I don't know what is the newer "RV" units but I would assume there is a similar process.
I know my handheld garmin units could download routes from a desktop app they had, but its been a long time since i have done that.

RV Trip wizard
I’ve had success by downloading the .gpx files to Garmin Basecamp. They are imported as tracks (not routes). Then use Basecamp to convert them to routes. Then download to the Garmin GPS. There are instructions for that process in the RVTW help website.
