We sold our 2017 Nexus 36DS Ghost MH.

We presently have a 2018 Reflection 303RLTS on order for a 10/10/2017 delivery date. This will be pulled by a 2017 Ram Mega Cab DRW. I have also updated my signature to reflect this,

While this is true, there is still a limit, in my mind, as to what the entire experience of "owning an rv" or "rv'ing" is worth ..... to me.

Now, if I were retired with several million dollars in the 401, and my kids were self sufficient, and I were going to live in the thing.. totally different "worth it" dollar amount would apply.

But for us, we take our RV several times a year to Texas state parks, and we go for at least one long trip a year lasting 1 to 3 months.

No sir, I've just done my research and wanted something that would last and wouldn't accept manufactures telling him i had to settle for what they build.

Hi
I don't know what price point you are looking to be in, but take a look at The RV Factory
or New Horizons. I am sure you can still find issues, but both of these companies want their customers satisfied and do their best to build a quality unit.

Angry Grand Design Imagine infested with Powderpost Beetles

I understand the OP post about GD's poor quality (build and customer service). Our 2022 Imagine 2600RB was picked up brand new on December 27th, 2021 and we had Powderpost Beetles emerging from the ceiling panels in early-mid March. There are more than 75 little exit pinholes from the adults. GD has pushed back on replacing our camper, only wanting to replace affected panels and our dealership (Lazydays of Knoxville TN) will only comply with what GD says. Good thing (unfortunately) is that we've found other people who've either experienced or are going through the same problem we're having, one of which is only 1 digit off from our VIN number. Both GD and Lazydays are aware of the problem and are currently denying all submitting claims for the beetles.

Forest River and Jayco had a similar issue a few years back, so it's not just GD. If you are seeing fine sawdust like powder in your camper/coach along with tiny pinholes, you've got a Powderpost Beetle problem. Do your research on these pests, their lifecycle is long and they are very difficult to get rid of.

Good luck out there!

I read the posts. So I do have to wonder, do you cringe when you see a homebuilt "RV"? Do you think that your puchased wonder will be contaminated by it? Or do you understand that there are people who are willing to learn how to build a camper/RV that will hold together and not fall apart while traveling down the highway (or on the dealer lot)? Do you accept that the "brand new straight off the dealer lot manufactured unit" can be built far worse than a homebuilt unit that was built by someone who will be putting their loved ones in it? Somehow I doubt it.
