Water Heater Element Location ???

Where is the water heater element located?
I watched a few videos about it, & the location that the videos show the element to be, it isn't there on my MH.
I took a picture of the area behind the basement door where the element SUPPOSEDLY is.
But, I sure don't see it.

On your Atwood water heater it’s located in the rear. Winnebago put two removable panels on my Horizon so I can access that area for service...I bet they did something similar on your rig.

Correct^^^^^

Atwood water heater electric elements are installed on backside of WH Tank (inside RV) under the protective cover at bottom of tank

2008 vintage uses a DC Relay to trigger the 120V AC to element. So inside that protective cover is DC power AND AC Power

Electric element requires a 1 1/2" thin walled socket to remove/install it.
Atwood uses a 1400W 120V AC element...standard type (same as residential so nothing special---any hardware store)

In your picture is the DC Circuit bd and propane side of water PLUS the set of t-stats that are used for both electric and gas

Suburban Brand.......everything is accessible in outside compartment.

Should have clarified that statement about Suburban WHs.
The circuit bd and AC Junction/DC Junctions are on backside (inside RV)
The 'major' components ARE in outside compartment

So, where in the rear is the water heater located?

Which way is the best way to access the heater element? From the inside or from the outside of my MH?

Sorry, OB.

Reading from my phone, & can't edit my post. After re-reading your post, I now understand that the heating element is located outside. Where outside is the water heater?

The heating element is accessed from inside the coach. It is on the rear of the unit. You should be able to figure it out and look for some removable paneling to access the element and A.C. wiring to the heater. Since yours is a 2008, full electrical, plumbing and the "parts catalog" for your model can be downloaded from the Resources section of the Winnebago Ind. Website. Good luck

Moxxi-

By my read of the plumbing diagrams and parts catalog for your coach, the water heater is located inside the compartment immediately aft of the passenger-side front wheel.

That's where I took this picture, & people posted saying that the heater element is not at that location.

If I ever find the water heater ...

I still don't see any place where they could have installed the heater.

I will check out the resources that you mentioned.

The BACKSIDE of water heater is DIRECTLY opposite of the one in your picture (which is the outside of the Atwood water heater)
Look in area directly behind passengers seat......removable floor panel in cabinet, washer/dryer area etc

Crawl underneath the water heater (picture) and look up...see if there is a removable panel to use for access

OR you have to completely remove water heater via outside

You know where the water heater is (picture) now just find the backside of it.\
That is where the electric element is

Thank you.
That's a definitive answer.

I knew that someone had to know where the water heater was.[emoji106]

Moxxi-

As I look further at the diagrams for your coach, I see:

- the water heater is installed below the floor line, and
- the water pump is installed immediately below the water heater

That means if you can find the access to the water pump you may have found the access to the rear of the water heater. It also means it's less likely that you can access the rear of the water heater from inside the coach (although it's still possible). I'd be looking for a removable panel (forward, aft, centerline and below the compartment the water heater is in).

When you get to the rear of the water heater, the electric heating will look like one of the pictures from the page in the parts list, below.
