Satellite Hook Up -Coachmen Mirada Select 37TB

Would a satellite dish connect to the coax connector for cable that is located in the fresh water/sewer compartment? I found another coax connection in a compartment on the opposite side of the coach also.

I can't seem to get the satellite dish to work. It is a portable dish, not mounted on the roof.

You can not use the cable TV connection for satellite the way it set up. There is a splitter/amplifier switch in the line that lets you change from cable to OTA input. This switch blocks the two way signal that's required for a satellite receiver. Some have modified the switch to bypass it when using the receiver, or you can run a second line for the receiver.

Most coax connectors, unless they specifically say "Satellite" will not pass satellite signals. It has to do with the splitters used in RVs...most are only 50Mhz to 900Mhz. Satellite uses 2000Mhz to 2500Mhz.

Another restriction is the TV/Cable/Ant box that has the power for the TV antenna. There is a restriction there also.

There are a lot of posts on how to get around those restrictions. I'll try to find them for you.

Normally, the easiest thing to do is get a satellite 'thru the window' coax from Amazon and just bypass the whole RV setup.

Sent you a PM.

First, if you can, connect the sat dish directly to the inside equipment.

If this works, you've eliminated one possible problem.
