WiFI and routers are pretty standard stuff everywhere. Going to Canada won't affect the usability of a WiFi repeater or an in-coach router.

I'm wondering if you are actually inquiring about cellular data plans across the border?

WiFi bands do vary from country to country. Different countries permit use of different bands for civilian purposes. In addition, the maximum allowed power on various bands is often different.

This topic arises occasionally when someone askes if he can take his RV with installed WiFi to a different country.

Google fi data plan in canada

I've been using Google Fi plan in Canada. It works great to teather phone. However, I cannot get my data only sim in the hotspot to connect. Teathring has been fine along Canada 1 and BC97 to Dawson Creek.

Are you sure your hotspot's plan is valid in Canada? A lot of them aren't.

I'm using an Orbi Lbr20 router/LTE Modem (Normally used in homes). It covers the Canada cell phone carriers. Google FI has a policy, data is data, on phone, teathering, hotspot or tablet. My Google Fi data sim works great in the LBR20 in hte USA, but would not connect in Canada. It was an anoynance.

Just an inconvience, since I could teather the phone and that has worked great while traveling hte Alcan. Now in Alaska using my ATT connected car SIM in the LBR20. Back up is Version phone (teathering limited per plan) or Google FI teathered phone.
