Thanks for the heads-up! That is not showing up on the state DOT website nor the Western states One stop Shop for Travelers.

Just got back from a trip to Salt Lake City and never saw the sign that said I-80 would be closed. Did see one sign that stated the some off ramp would be closed. Might have been close to Carlin. There is some one lane areas near Wells and out by Valmy. Plus the slick roads just before you get to Elko because of the crickets on the roadway.

I remember crickets there about 20 years ago on a trip we did to Salt Lake City.
There were a LOT of crickets!

Here's a LINK from the Elko Daily Free Press

And here's the content for those that don't want to disable their ad blocker.

"CARSON CITY – Interstate 80 between Battle Mountain and Carlin will be closed overnight on June 18 as the Nevada Department of Transportation continues a project to construct truck climbing lanes.

The freeway will be closed to both directions of traffic between Battle Mountain exit 231 and Carlin exit 279 from 9 p.m. June 18 to 5 a.m. June 19. The closure date is subject to change.

Motorists should plan to avoid I-80 travel during the time, or use alternate routes. Services, such as gasoline, are very limited along the alternate routes, and motorists should review availability of services before traveling. Traffic stopped for the closure must park in authorized locations such as designated truck parking or public parking areas (Beowawe and Button Point rest areas are closed).

During the closure, the bridge over I-80 Emigrant Pass will be demolished. Originally constructed in 1967, the older bridge is being replaced with a wider, modern bridge to make way for a future truck climbing lane."

The electronic signs on 80 are letting travelers know and to be prepared.
