1977 American Clipper 440 Renovation

Hi everyone,

Just started demo on my Clipper, I don’t have a manual of any kind. Came across this huge water tank. Is this the fresh water tank? If so where is the black tank?

Also, any ideas what’s up with this part wrapped in foil?

Thanks everyone

Yes , that's your fresh tank .

Black and grey tanks will be below floor level .

Follow the plumbing back from the dump valves .

Until you know what a previous owner has hooked to the other end of the wrapped tube ; from the modified exhaust ; we're all in the dark .

The foil looks like a heat shield wrapped around a wire loom, it's right above the catalytic converters which can get toasty. I would refresh that with new reflective material and resecure it.

Where's the black tank? Would suggest starting at the toilet and work your way down.

Does anyone know what material the roof is? I’m going to remove one of the vents to see if I can tell that way. Thanks

Dropping a vent bezel from the ceiling should tell you the type of rubber roof .

White right through is one type; or white on top black under side is EDPM .

Marker lights

Hi all I’m changing my marker lights to led’s and am a bit confused on these ground wires.
There are two green wires connected to the marker light I’m working on now. Not sure which is live or positive. As for the other marker lights on top of my rv those wires are green and white, I need to know which acts as the live wires for the ose as well. The led’s I’m attaching are standard red and black.
Thanks all

Pull out your voltmeter and you can tell in 2 seconds.

Wire to wire-- will either read 12 VDC + if red lead to voltmeter is positive or 12 VDC- if red lead is on the ground side.
