Jayco Melbournes 2013-2015

Planning to look at some Jayco Melbournes in the 2013-2015 range. Most are the triple slide Model 29D on a Ford E450 chassis. Are there any issues/problems that are particular to these models which I should look out for? Any locations on the motorhome which I should carefully inspect?

Advice will be appreciated.

Hello rpasetto
I noticed you received zero replies to your inquiry. I'm also contemplating the Melbourne in those model years and find very little chatter regarding them. So did you end up purchasing a 29D? My pick is the 28F and in particular the 2014 model year.Specifically for the JRIDE factory suspension. One item I did come across was a hump in the floor that was a result of the suspension or the frame. I don't remember which.

Long time since that post. a lot has happened

I looked at Winnebago Aspect/Cambria models as well. In my opinion they are superior to the Jayco Melbourne and Coachmen Concord lines. Better workmanship, upholstery, cabinetry and electronics that vie with some of the mid-line Diesel pushers which I recall looking at decades ago, before I bought my Diplomat. Anyway, bought an Aspect, upgraded steering, suspension & a few other things. It's been great.

The Aspect has served us well, it's wonderful for short trips and gets us into places we couldn't go with the 45' Monaco we used to have, towing an SUV or pickup. However we feel it was a bit too much a "downsizing" from our previous Monaco DP. We recently decided to look for something in between, a DP around 36 to 40 ft, so our Aspect is for sale.

Thank you for replying to my post! Coincidentally I started looking at the Aspect/Cambria line of coaches for the superior built quality that resulted in such good reviews. Due to that fact the prices for used units remain quite high and out of my price range. The Melbourne seemed like they came close at a lower price point. My wife and I have done a bit of rv'ing and I'd like to jump back in within the next two years (she doesn't know that yet 😀 ) So I've been spending alot of time surfing the web doing research.
I hope you find the perfect replacement for your Aspect and have great adventures in your future

Hello,
I have owned a 2013 Jayco Melbourne going on 4 years. I have nothing but praises for the coach overall functionality, layout, and build quality. I would highly recommend!
