I wonder if Garmin will update the operating system on the 760 with the few features that might be of interest?
For the xtra inch of screen and the same price for me the RV 760 LTM

I just got their e-mail today for the 660LMT.

I picked up the RV 760LMT a few weeks ago and it was nice.

I like the screen size which makes it easier to see while driving.

I only had one bad direction from them in Oklahoma where it tried to send me down this old dirt road.

Luckily I was able to turn around.

Look at the product comparison to make your choice.

The unit is not shipping at this time. It is only available as pre-order. Delivery is several months away. This unit is very promising, but I have the 760 and am very satisfied with it.
GPS safely,
Alex

The New Garmin RV 660LMT

Why not upgrade?
I just bought the nuviLMTCamHD. GPS with a Dash Cam, voice control, hands-free bluetooth, and all the good options except RV dimentions. $399
But it does have driver awareness features plus fuel, food and other voice activated waypoint selections.
https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-t...rod168820.html
I don't need the clearance notification. Haven't seen a low bridge since I started RVing 23 years ago. Is there a truck? Yer good!
I turned off the POI junk. Don't need all of the side-bar distractions or to know where the next happy meal stop is (YUCK).

I really like the speed limit change notices, sharp turn ahead, etc notices, etc. on the RV760 - probably the same on the new model. Don't have the voice or camera. I personally like the side bar items like fuel and food. Got bluetooth covered for phone when I upgraded the stereo so all good there.

As I recall - you were due an upgrade of the sextant you were previously using.

In comparison, my 08 nuvi was like an abacus, sextant and railroad watch.

What I liked about the 660 LMT is the ability to be able easily move the intended path. Lots of time we want to take the road less traveled, and my current Garmin doesn't like to change the calculated route without a fight. I also was very interested in the height, width and weight notices the 660 LMT gives.

On this trip, we encountered a low height bridge where the sign indicated 13 foot clearance and we are just about 12'8". The Garmin 660 LMT would have been helpful there warning us in advance.

Why would you need warning with 4 inches to spare?
BTW, the newer Garmins all have the easy route changing.

Because although my brain knew we had 4 inches to spare my wife kept saying louder and louder and louder "We're going to hit! We're going to hit! We're going to hit!" Maybe with the Garmin saying "Don't worry mum, it'll be OK" she would be a little happier.

LOL!
You must have been off of major routes, yes?
Some trucks are 13, some are at max of 13.5.
I found one at 11 on a dirt road in the Carolinas. I did NOT belong there! Had a 11.5 foot A at the time.

Garmin dezl 760 LMT

We have the Garmin dezl 760 LMT and have had great luck with it. We love the idea that as a truck GPS it tracks the roads that are truck friendly with adequate clearance just like the over the road truckers' atlas we used to use. The Garmin is much easier. This, of course, can always be less than failsafe, but we have not had a bad route with it so far. We have been very pleased with it in all respects.

I'm thinkig about getting the Garmin dezl 760 LMT- how easy is it to change the route. I have tried Basecamp with my Garmin Nuvi and it is a PITA to use. I am looking for one I can adjust route after entering destination.
Thanks for your input.

about the Garmin program called BaseCamp. I find it about worthless.

Why are you considering the Garmin dezl 760 LMT and not the RV 760 LMT? From what I have read they are the same except for the RV version has a lot more camping places loaded.
