Was this something you were supposed to learn from your Mom????
I can't believe it's been there all the time.

I had to go into the kitchen & check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil box? You know when you try to pull some foil out & the roll comes out of the box.

Then you have to put the roll back in the box & start over. The darn roll always comes out at the wrong time. Well, I'd like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box & for some reason I turned it, & looked at the end of the box.

Written on the end it said, Press here to lock end. Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this litttle locking tab been there?

I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil & it had one too! I can't count the number of times the Saran Wrap roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

I'm sharing this with my friends & hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

I know you're going to go & check your boxes, so go ahead!!

WOW! I had no idea! And, yes, I just went and checked mine and sure enough, they have the tabs. It does seem like something Momma should have taught me!

I'll have to check when I get up from here...just used aluminum foil tonight and the roll came out of the box. Obviously if the box as a tab it is not deployed YET.

You mean I don't have to chase it across the floor anymore. Now the cat's not going to have any fun at all.

I ran down.. ok, walked kinda fast.. and checked ours.. sure enough TABS but ours were already pushed in.. so I asked my daughter-in-law and she said she's always known.. learned it from her mom, so the tabs have been around for awhile.

It only took me 48 years to figure it out...I guess mom figured her son had enough education to figure it out long ago. Sorry mom.

Ok you smart guys are making some of us look dumb.

But I have to ask, if theses tabs are so important to keep that roll in the box, why does the factory provide the tabs and NOT deploy them for us...why should I have to do it?

Flytyer, the tabs aren't factory deployed because the cat wouldn't have the roll to chase across the room when it falls out of the box.
