Description:

If the ad is still up I still have it. I have title in hand. Read below before sending any messages. This will be a cash deal. You'd have to blow my mind for a trade.

We're picking up a Bronco in a few weeks, so we don't need it any more. This was our first new car, we bought when we had our first child. Then my son grew up and drove it, then my son got a truck and my daughter drove it. We set it up for flat towing around 2010 and I'd guess it has about 8000k miles towed, mostly up the coast. We took it to Yellowstone last summer and just got back from Moab (this has never been off-roaded). It is pretty rough but it always works for us. I just have not recently been able to justify keeping it pretty, since we only use it once in a while (daughter is away for college).

I have all the important receipts from the window sticker on except the most important one, the rebuilt transmission at about 150k miles.

Some of what is wrong with it:

  • Big crack in the windshield (passenger side)

  • Some dents and stuff (teenagers)

  • air bag light is on (tape working well to cover it). It recently occurred to me that it could be a loose wire like we had on our Tacoma.

  • center brake light is just taped on and plastic is gone on the back hatch. I was planning on just removing the center brake light but this is holding in there.

  • back hatch is on manual lock since the lock keeps clicking when the door is open so I disconnected the arm after throwing parts at it trying to fix it.

  • front seats have bottom covers because the front leather is really bad

  • Steering wheel is rough but I have a cover on it

  • Has newer radio that does Apple Car Play and Android Auto (teenagers LOL)

  • AC needs to be recharged all the time. I think it is the Schraeder valve but it is just easier to put more in when we need it. R134 is cheap in Arizona and Utah.

  • Certainly some other stuff but this is all I can think of right now

This is a car that I've had both my kids driving, so the brakes and stuff like that are in good shape. It still seems to be mechanically sound, runs, shifts drives and tows great. Like I said, we just got done using it and it worked fine. I'll get it smogged this weekend. Tires have a lot of tread and aren't too old. Obviously I'm not guaranteeing anything. I'm completely honest about this car because I don't need bad karma. I just got it smogeed so it should be good to go for the February renewal. DMV wants about $150/year for this one.

This is the perfect starter TOAD for someone that is on a budget and sick of picking up camp to site-see. Comes with base plate, Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar and wires. The tail lights have diodes. All you will need to be legal is a TOAD braking system (about $1000). I have to admit I've never used one on this (but I will be using one for our Bronco). I was always going to get it before the "next trip" LOL.

I'm going to hold firm on the price for a few weeks, but might be a little negotiable after the new year. My daughter will want something to drive whlie she is home for Winter break, and I'd rather keep her out of my truck. Ideally I'll get enough out of this to completely set up the Bronco to tow.
